Geothermal ERA-NET Project

Geothermal ERA-NET is a European project co-funded for four years (2012/05/01 – 2016/10/31) by the European Commission within the 7th Framework Programme for Research and Technological Development 2007-2013. The Project involves 12 partners from 11 different countries including Research and Government Institutions active in the field of energy. Geothermal ERA-NET aims to deepen the cooperation of national program owners and administrators and thus be an enabler for the integration of national research and development agendas into a coherent European geothermal R&D program. The Geothermal ERA-NET will focus on the utilization of geothermal energy, from direct heating use up to higher enthalpy resources and their corresponding use (e.g. power generation). A significant instrument will be the EERA Joint Programme on Geothermal Energy whose aim it is to contribute via research and development to the renewable energy targets for 2020 and beyond in member and associated states.
