This month's newsletter of the Norwegian Polar Institute includes two Italian contributions. The first one concerns the research project, coordinated by the Institute of Geosciences and Georesources, entitled "Observing Earth Critical Zone Processes in the Bayelva Basin". In a dissemination article, the types of measurements, the methods and the preliminary results obtained are reported (https://nyalesundresearch.no/2021/05/the-changing-arctic-critical-zone/).

The second is a picture taken by Mariasilvia Giamberini and portraying the IGG colleagues happy to see the boat approaching the beach to take them back to Ny Ålesund research station after a long day out spent sampling ice and freshwater thar melts from the Midtre Lovenbreen glacier. These samplings are part of the activities of the ISMOGLAC project, also managed by the Institute of Geosciences and Georesources (https://nyalesundresearch.no/?mailpoet_router&endpoint=view_in_browser&action=view&data=WzEyLCI1NTBkMTYzMTRmYzEiLDAsMCw0LDFd).
