As part of the XIX World Water Day 2019, it took place on March 21st at Villa Farnesina in Rome the conference entitled "Gestione e difesa delle coste", organized by the Accademia dei Lincei. Among others , the event included the topic "Coastal evolution, contribution, erosion, sediment transport, effects on settlements and coastal works". During the session dedicated to this topic, Lyuba Novi, CNR-IGG, presented her work entitled: "Wave climatology and energy transport as an assessment tool of coastal erosion mitigation solutions". Among the authors, Serena Botteghi and Francesco Raffa participated. The extended abstract will be published in the volume dedicated to the proceedings of the conference on Rendiconti Lincei.
The conference was attended by experts in the field as well as local stakeholders and student classes, and the meeting was also open to the public and the press to illustrate and raise awareness of possible future initiatives.
