Territory, geo-resources and cultural heritage: examples of 'urban petrography' in Sicily and Tuscany

The Association GEODE, with the Museum of Mineralogy (Department of Earth Science - DiSTeM, University of Palermo), the Institute of Geosciences and Earth Resources of Pisa and the Geologists of Sicily, will tell the fascinating world of marble and ornamental stones, during a thematic conference entitled: Territory, geo-resources and cultural heritage: examples of 'urban petrography' in Sicily and Tuscany, on December 12 in Palermo. There will be a special exhibition of ornamental stones (approximately 200 rock samples) donated to the Museum of Mineralogy by the IGG of Pisa. The Museum will open to the public and organize guided tours and educational workshops. The event will take place at the Museum of Mineralogy and will be open to students of all levels, academic audience, passionate experts, and curious citizens.
