On Thursday 9 April 2020, Sergio Longhitano, Professor of Sedimentology and Stratigraphy at the Department of Science of the University of Basilicata, a worldwide expert in sedimentology of the sea straits, held an online seminar for the Institute of Geosciences and Earth Resources entitled "Tidal straits: how to identify them, how to understand them, how to be fascinated by them. Basic geological criteria for their identification in the rock record."
