On 22 March, the Park's Governing Board appointed the new Scientific Committee of the Apuan Alps Park, a body envisaged by Regional Law no. 30 of 19 March 2015, 'Norme per la conservazione e la valorizzazione del patrimonio naturalistico - ambientale regionale' and by the organisation's statute. The new Committee will be in charge until 2028. One of the members, appointed on the basis of lists of names submitted by the Rectors of the three Tuscan universities (Florence, Pisa and Siena) and by the President of the National Research Council in compliance with the principle of gender parity laid down by regional legislation, was Alessandro Ellero, IGG researcher and expert in the field of geological sciences.
