The celebrations of the 100th anniversary of the June 29th 1919 Mugello earthquake have officially with a conference organized at Mugello Circuit in Scarperia (Florence). The program of initiatives, which will continue throughout 2019, includes scientific and divulgative conferences, exhibitions and civil protection exercises. The events, coordinated by the Civil Protection office of the Province of Florence (Protezione Civile della Città Metropolitana di Firenze), will involve regional and local authorities, volunteer organizations, local and national offices of Civil Protection and research institutions. The Institute of Geosciences and Earth Resources of the National Research Council of Italy supports the initiatives related to these celebrations and will actively take part to the planned scientific events.
