V.I.O.L.A. – Background values in Apulian aquifers

The BACKGROUND VALUES IN PUGLIA AQUIFERS (VIOLA) project is one of the activities funded under the Puglia Regional Operational Program (ROP). The project coordinators are Giuseppe Passarella (IRSA Bari) and Elisabetta Preziosi (IRSA Rome). The project has a duration of 36 months (starting January 1, 2018) and has received a total financial support of €630,000.

The Institute of Geosciences and Earth Resources is involved in the project with activities regarding the isotopic applications of O, H, B, and Sr in the study of the interactions between the selected waters and the carbonate aquifers of the Apulian platform.

The analytical activities at the IGG-CNR are carried out by Matteo Salvadori (a one-year IRSA fellow) under the guidance of researchers and technicians from the Neptune-TIMS and Stable Isotopes laboratories.
