Geothermal ERA-NET is a European project co-funded for four years (May 1, 2012 \u2013 October 31, 2016) by the European Commission under the 7th Framework Programme for Research and Technological Development (FP7) 2007-2013.

The project involves 12 partners from 11 different countries, including research institutions and government bodies active in the energy sector. The project aims to foster cooperation between operators and regulators in the geothermal sector, as well as encourage the alignment of national research programs with international initiatives, within the European research and development (R&D) framework.

The Geothermal ERANET targets applications ranging from the direct use of geothermal heat to electricity generation with higher enthalpy resources, including electricity-heat cogeneration. Furthermore, the project shares with the EERA Joint Programme on Geothermal Energy the objective of contributing to the development of research to achieve the goals of the renewable energy programmes up to 2020.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
