EDUCATION

• Senior researcher from 16-11-1996 inside Istituto di Geoscienze e Georisorse – National Researches Council (CNR), in Pisa, as winner of a competition on a national basis.
• Fixed-therm researcher of the Gruppo Nazionale per la Vulcanologia (GNV) inside the Istituto di Geocronologia e Geochimica Isotopica - CNR in Pisa from 19-11-1990 to 15-10-1996.
• Fixed-therm researcher of the Gruppo Nazionale per la Vulcanologia (GNV) inside the Istituto di Geocronologia e Geochimica Isotopica - CNR in Pisa from 01-10-1985 to 30-09-1990, with a direct call for “Expert in Volcanology”.
• On November 17, 1980 she was permanently hired in the role of "Specialist in Volcanology" at the AGIP SpA Geothermal Exploration Sector, based in San Donato Milanese (MI). On September 30, 1985 she resigned voluntarily from the role.

SCIENTIFIC ACTIVITY

Phisical Volcanology:

• Stratigraphy and chrono-stratigraphy (by means of the Archaeomagnetic dating methodology) of recent volcanic areas.
• Cartography in volcanic areas and reconstruction of the evolutive history of Quaternary volcanic systhems.

• History of volcanology and the use of historical data in volcanological surveys.

• Physical properties of phyroclastic deposits. Sedimentology and facies variations in volcanic depositional processes (by means of micro-coring thecnique).
• Dynamic of the explosive volcanic processes, with particular attention to monogenetic volcanic events (strombolian, violent-strombolian and phreatic eruptions as well as diatremic dynamic and deposits).
• Volcanology for Geothermal exploration

Geo-archeology:

• Archaeomagnetic dating of fiery structures in the framework of the reconstruction of the Geomagnetic Secular Variation Curve (SVC) for the peri-Mediterranean region in the last 10-15.000 years.

• Interpreting stratigraphic (micro-coring technology) and geophysical data for palaeo-environmental reconstruction of settling sites of archaeological interest.

PROFESSIONAL ACTIVITY

• Representative of the National Research Council (CNR) in respect of the International Association of Volcanology and Chemistry of the Earth's Interior (IAVCEI), that is part of the International Union of Geology and Geophysics (IUGG), for the period from 1 January 2011 to 31 December 2018.

• Member from 2014 of the Executive Council of the association “La Nuova Limonaia” (Association for the dissemination of scientific, technological and other branches of knowledge) in Pisa, www.lanuovalimonaia.it
• Member of the Geothermal Energy Commission of the Geological National Council of Italy from 12 December 2012.
• Since 2012 she is part of the Scientific Committee of the magazine "Geologist" Quarterly of the Order of Geologists of Tuscany.
• Head from 11 November 2008 of the module PC.P01.007.003 IGG-CNR "Archeomagnetic techniques for the characterization of sites and archaeological objects" (part of project PC.P01.007- Integration of advanced detection geophysical methods, GIS and numerical models for the understanding of archaeological sites and the characterization of historical artifacts " managed by ITABC-CNR).
• Head from 11 April 2007 of the Laboratory of Stratigraphic Microcoring (DUNE_Lab) at IGG-CNR in Pisa
