SCIENTIFIC ACTIVITY

My research is focused on the (bio)geochemical cycles of carbon, sulfur and trace metals between the surficial environment (atmosphere-oceans-crust) and Earth’s interior (mantle). During my Ph.D. I have studied these cycles at subduction zones to understand how they can promote the oxidation of the Earth’s mantle and control the spatial and temporal distribution of ore deposits. My post-doc research activity has been focused on the study of mineral deposits associated with environmental contaminations by heavy metals (Tl), CO2 mineral sequestration in ultramafic rocks, and on the development of new proxies for the reconstruction of paleo-fluxes of CO2 through the Earth’s crust.
