1983: petrografia di cantiere durante la perforazione di due pozzi geotermici Agip-Enel in Sicilia e Campania (Isola di Vulcano 1 e Mofete 9D).
1983-1984: geologo presso lo Studio Geotecnico Associato di Livorno.
dal 1984: Ricercatore del Consiglio Nazionale delle Ricerche presso l’IIV di Catania (1984-1985), l’IIRG di Pisa (1985-1999), l’IFAM di Pisa (1999-2001), l’IGGI di Pisa (2001-2002), l’IPCF di Pisa (2002-2009), l’IGG di Pisa (2009-).
